Ponikve is the public utility company of Krk, responsible for water supply, wastewater, and refuse disposal for the island. They are long time users of modeling, having started in 1989 with WesNet, and they are among the leaders in Croatia in the use of formal mathematical approaches to network planning. Over the past fifteen years Ponikve’s modelers have completed 50 network models. Since 2002 they have used InfoWorks to address planning and operational issues in water supply and collection systems, converting all their old models to the new package, as well as building new models.
